What is CHAS accreditation / SSIP?

CHAS is an industry authority on UK compliance and health and safety legislation. CHAS works with over 100 assessors. The assessors are qualified health and safety professionals.

Since the launch of SSIP, many Clients and Principal Contractors now adopt an SSIP approach to H&S pre-qualification. Consequently they will only use contractors who hold a valid and in date certificate issued by an SSIP Member Scheme.

What does SSIP mean?

Holding a SSIP Member Scheme certificate means that a contractor has demonstrated their capability by meeting the SSIP ‘core criteria’.

A key aim of the SSIP Forum is to reduce the burden and cost of H&S bureaucracy across the construction industry and as part of this, contractors holding a CHAS H&S certificate will be recognised by the other Member Schemes who offer mutual recognition. As a result you should not have to complete a further full H&S assessment with them.

Both G&M Safe Deck and Safety Netting are proud members of FASET and various other H&S schemes that are SSIP members.
